Session 4 - What To Do with 200TB of Bug Videos: Implementing a Centrally Managed Research Data Storage Service Using iRODS on AWS

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Research data management is an increasingly important part of the support that IT organizations provide for faculty. Our solution has been to implement the Integrated Rule-Oriented Data System (iRODS) open-source data management software on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for research data storage and archival use.

iRODS allows our faculty to securely manage their data without worrying about the underlying IT architecture. This is an open source data management application used by research organizations and government agencies worldwide and provides a complete system for metadata management, data discovery, automated data workflows, secure collaboration, and storage virtualization.
